Floyd Mayweather Jr. is one of the busiest retired boxers in the world. Last year, the forty-five-year-old fought three bouts, pretty high even by professional standards. Reportedly, the former champion intends to keep the 2023 calendar jam-packed to the brim. But, on the other end, his social obligations compete with professional ones.

Fans have barely forgotten Mayweather Jr.’s lightning-quick performance against Deji at Dubai’s Coca-Cola Arena. However, how he painted the town red remains a daily conversation. Back home for the Christmas Holidays, Mayweather splurged money to buy expensive gifts and accessories for family members and friends. The onset of the new year saw him back in the saddle, trotting from one venue to another. However, his latest visit drew a crowd. But what he said later would perhaps leave most bemused, if not smiling.

Chicago-born Director Dean Taylor had invited former NBA legend Scotty Pippen and Floyd Mayweather Jr. for a discussion on fear. The event was a precursor to his movie Fear, which will premiere on January 21. He said, “Sitting in a room discussing how to overcome fear with two of the greatest athletes of all time! Was truly life-changing!”

With some ten minutes left for the program to conclude, Mayweather Jr. shared his perspective on the subject and talked about the difficult family life that made him tough. He stated how he wanted to share the most personal details of his life, not just as a boxer but as a person, I want to be able to tell my story and just not about The Fighter, about the man, about the human about my dad about my mother you know.”

Then he explained how the world saw only his famous father, Floyd Mayweather Sr., but never his mother, Deborah Sinclair. He said, You always see my dad, you always see my family but you guys never see my mother, so on Discord, you know I’m I’m ready to tell my story and and I don’t want to just tell I want to show The Good the Bad and the Ugly that’s right because there’s ups and downs this roller coaster it’s a roller coaster ride in everybody’s life…”

Probably too engrossed talking about the personal facets of his life, the champ took to the first-person narrative, calling himself a strong woman. “That’s who what what made me you know a strong a strong woman strong black woman because there’s nothing there’s nothing in the world better than a black woman period,” he said in the event.

It seems, however, the panel members and the audience, too overwhelmed by his rendering, just accepted the way it was.

Floyd Mayweather Jr. is collaborating with Deon Taylor on a docuseries called “The GOAT.”

Aside from the panelists, former NBA All-Star Baron Davis, Hollywood actor Dennis Quaid, rappers T.I. and Master P, and martial arts actor Michael Jai White were also present.
