It seems that 2021 is not really an ideal year for the lightweight prodigy, Ryan Garcia. After stepping into the ring on January 2, fans expected him to fight at least two more times in 2021. Unfortunately, mental health concerns scuppered his July return date.

After overcoming that, Garcia was all set to come back. He was all set to battle the WBC interim lightweight champ, Joseph Diaz. However, now, he has pulled out of the fight because of injury. ‘King Ry’ hasn’t revealed a return date.

Taking it to his Twitter, ‘King Ry’ wrote, “Very unlucky for me this year, breaking my hand from sparring just sealed the deal for this year. I won’t let this stop me from accomplishing my dreams. It’s a bad chapter but not the end of my book”

When Garcia cited mental health concerns in July, many fans came to his support. But this time, his injury reasons didn’t go well with the fans, and they took a dig at him on Twitter.

Boxing Legends TV wrote, “Ryan Garcia is just prolonging the inevitable. He’s getting knocked out very soon”

Later, the account added, “He’s chinny with suspect defense. Offensively very dangerous, but the Lightweight division has some really killers.”

Boxing Antics shared an X-Ray image with the caption, “X-ray pics of Ryan Garcia’s hand. Say’s he’ll be ready in 2022.”

Fans take wild aim at Ryan Garcia

One fan shared an image from Garcia‘s last fight against Luke Campbell. He wrote, “Ryan Garcia’s last fight (1931 colourised)”

I think Ryan Garcia likes being a boxer more than he likes actually boxing,” wrote another boxing enthusiast.
