Boxer’s “Stupid” Mistake Results in Devastating Defeat Caught on Viral Video

Boxing is a sport where a little error by a fighter can cause serious damage and potentially a loss. Although in other sports there is little room for these errors, in boxing the same cannot be said due to the intense and violent nature of the sport. Despite this, many fighters like to showboat and put on a spectacle for the crowd which can sometimes lead to their defeats.

This was exactly what happened to one of former unified heavyweight champion Andy Ruiz Jr’s opponents who underestimated the Mexican boxer and had to pay for it. In a resurfaced video posted by Top Rank Boxing, both fighters can be seen dishing punches out in a slugfest. However, Ruiz’s opponent made the mistake of pulling his guard down and trying to mock the former champion.

This would certainly not work in the favor of the opponent as Ruiz went on to land a barrage of punches which immediately changed the opponent’s facial expressions. Moreover, he even tried to pull his guard up but was too late as Ruiz’s relentless attack was not stopped until the referee called off the fight. This was not all as the fans were also quick to jump on and react to this viral video of Ruiz.

A user named christian.cheyne stated that the boxer did everything except protect his face. “Bro did everything but protect his face,” they wrote.

Another user named callyking187 hilariously compared the opponent’s hands to that of a dead remote controller. “The batteries went dead in his controller,” they wrote.

A user named _r1ggs_ recalled another opponent who faced Ruiz Jr.’s wrath. “AJ had the same reaction,” they wrote.

Moreover, a user named mrjwhite stated that the fighter got his prize for playing stupid games. “Play stupid games win stupid prizes,” they wrote.

Lastly, a user named jimbogram40 claimed that Ruiz Jr. had sucked all the air out of his opponent’s lungs with his punches. “Took all the oxygen out his lungs,” they wrote.

The fans were certainly thrilled to see the boxer getting ambushed by Ruiz Jr. after trying to taunt him. The Mexican boxer has always been underestimated by his opponents. However, this usually works well for the former champion who moves like a middleweight despite not looking at the part. In addition, following his victory over Luis Ortiz, he terminated his contract with his former promotion PBC.
