Terence Crawford is one of the best active boxers right now. The P4P superstar holds the WBO welterweight belt and is yet to face defeat. As a result, it is difficult for ‘Bud’ to find opponents. However, his promoter, Bob Arum, has now revealed a potential list of opponents.

Crawford is coming off an impressive victory over Kell Brook in November. Many expected a unification bout against Manny Pacquiao or Errol Spence Jr. However since the two are fighting each other, Crawford has to find another opponent. And the names will certainly surprise a few.

Michael Benson from Talksport was the first to break the news. He took to his to Twitter to confirm that Bob Arum had provided an update on Crawford’s next opponent. Benson claimed Arum has revealed that Crawford’s next opponent will be someone moving up in weight from super-lightweight.

Benson then dropped three potential names who could face Crawford. The list included newly crowned light-welterweight undisputed champion Josh Taylor, former world champion Regis Prograis, and contender Jose Zepeda. However, there is no timeline for the return of the undefeated champion.

Who would be the best opponent for Terence Crawford?

The list shows that Arum and Crawford are preparing for another big-name opponent after Brook. Moreover, the American champion has no option but to fight a notable fighter to prevent critics from questioning his choice of opponents. So who could be the best of the lot from the names in the list?

One that stands out is Josh Taylor. ‘The Tartan Tornado’ has already admitted he wants to fight Crawford and said he would love for it to happen in Scotland. Furthermore, it would be a battle of the current undisputed light-welterweight champion and the former undisputed light-welterweight champion.

Crawford achieved the feat in 2017 and subsequently moved up to welterweight to challenge himself in the higher weight class. Therefore, not only would it be a fantastic fight, but it would also have an added sense of pride between both fighters.
