Boxing’s lightweight roster is filled with some exuberantly talented technicians who have stirred the sport with their unprecedented performances. One of the prime names in this division’s landscape is Vasyl Lomachenko. The latter, in just a brief span of time, has turned into an absolute star, who has battled some noteworthy contenders in the 135-pound division.
Moreover, he is strengthening his boxing resume and is already eager to step inside the squared circle again. Recently, his promoter and Top Rank Promotions’ boss, Bob Arum, was in an interview with World Boxing News. Here, he spoke about ‘Loma’s next potential fight and opponent.
“Commey’s name has come up.”

“We’re looking at who’s available,” said Arum.
The Top Rank boss also revealed that the WBC lightweight champ, Devin Haney, is “also in the mix” for a fight against the Ukrainian boxer.
The 33-year-old made his much-awaited comeback to the game in June 2021 against the lanky, Masayoshi Nakatani. In this fight, Lomachenko knew that he had to win in order to remain viable in the championship ride.

Leaving no doubts about his performance, ‘Loma’ completely outclassed his opponent. Right from the first second of the fight, he showed his intent and kept Nakatani on the back foot before finishing him.
Now, the former lightweight champ has his focus keenly set on reclaiming the gold. And before that, he won’t look to turn his attention anywhere else.

Lomachenko wants to avenge his loss to the unified lightweight champ, Teofimo Lopez. But for now, the latter already has a fight aligned against George Kambosos Jr.
That said, Devin Haney seems an ideal opponent for Lomachenko. This is because ‘The Dream’ is not aligned for a fight with anyone, and ‘Loma’ has already done enough to claim a world title fight.
