‘Bloody Shame’: Boxing Fans Disgusted by Boxer Who Took a Dive in the Middle of a fight

Boxing, being the combat sport it is, is often associated with hard-hitting and the punishment of bodies amongst its fans. The sport, over the years, has witnessed some jaw-dropping power punchers and devastating knockouts within the enclosure of the ring. In this peculiar fiesta, Muhammad Ali, Mike Tyson, the more recent Tyson Fury, and Deontay Wilder – all have demonstrated the soul-crushing strength of the fist.

It neither has a round-shaped ball nor does it own a pair of cleats. While getting physical in other sports is considered unfair and booked as fouls, sports such as boxing rely entirely upon the will to hurt and the capacity to endure pain and fatigue. Honestly speaking, if one cannot stand the pain, boxing is definitely not the sport to choose.

A misfit in boxing goes viral

A video has gone viral on social media recently in which viewers see a boxer rolling on the ground, crying out loud in what seems an unbearable pain. Two boxers, one in blue trunks, and the other in a black face-off prior to the referee starting the contest.

While the referee is still busy talking to other officials, the duo comes to a point where the one in black subtly collides his forehead against that of the one wearing blue. Following this, the boxer wearing the blue trunks intentionally falls to the ground and makes a handful of painful cries.

Several fans on social media reacted to the clip. Here are some reactions that stand out and are hence worth mentioning.

A user named Fuad Fredericks commented, “Well the guy in blk should be disqualified.”

There is no sport that allows head-butting. Although boxing is a contact sport, depending upon the injury, the referee can deduct points or even decide to disqualify the fighter for attempting a foul play such as a head-butt.

Honestly, the laughs began when a user named Rob Rob commented, “The art of fighting without fighting…..lol.” 

For those who did not get the reference, the writer is alluding to the famous Bruce Lee quote from the movie Enter The Dragon.

Where everyone else kept the scene a little light, someone called Billie Howie became a little serious. He wrote, “That kid is gonna wish he never took that dive, Bloody shame🤦🏻‍♂️.”

At this, what was inevitable was a football/soccer joke. Well, fans took good care of it.
