After having a go at Ryan Garcia inside the squared circle, it seems Devin Haney wants to fight him inside the courtroom now. However, the situation has left the fans and pros dumbfounded, as they search for the rationale behind the move. Amid the debacle and chaos, Bill Haney‘s previous comments have come to light, only adding to the incensed situation. It has left fans scratching their heads, and it seems Gervonta Davis is no different.
The Haney family’s patriarch had warned Garcia, 26, of the repercussions and probable outcomes of the fight when the trash-talking was at its peak in April, before their fight. In one of the famous clips, he could be heard saying, “Enough is enough. I told my son go in there and kill him [Ryan Garcia]. We’re going to finally put him to bed and that bullsh*t he’s been doing. Ain’t no more boxing…it’s a fight!”
But amusingly, when Haney, 25, pushed the lawsuit on ‘KingRy,’ he filed battery, fraud, and unjust enrichment charges. It didn’t make sense to a fan, who turned to his X handle and wrote, “Didn’t Bill Haney say they were sending in Devin Haney to kill Ryan Garcia? Said he really wants Ryan to die in the ring ? Now team Haney is saying they could’ve died and wanting to sue lol b*tch move.”

It was to this post that ‘Tank’ responded. Reflecting on the contrasting statement and turn of events, Davis’ comment read, “Crazy how life works..” Davis, 29, is not the only one who called out the Haney family’s lynchpin’s stark statements. Garcia, at 24-1, also highlighted Bill Haney’s comments before the fight.

Ryan Garcia is ready with a counteroffense
The Victorville native shared a short clip of Bill Haney, where he declared, “Devin Haney is going to box you, Ryan Garcia. He is coming to kill you.” Garcia had a comical response, as he also teased to sue him for such remarks. He noted, “I have no other choice but to sue him.”

Notably, Garcia had already accepted sanctions from NYSAC for his failed PED tests for ostarine. The list of sanctions included a year-long ban and a fine of $1.1 million. In addition, he had already paid $600k to his opponent for missing the weight and coming over 3 pounds higher than the weight limits. But the controversy surrounding their fight hasn’t subsided. While both parties have been vocal about running it back for a rematch, it might take a while before that happens. Not to mention the growing skepticism in Garcia’s head with the latest lawsuit.
