There is another twist in Ryan Garcia and his war with the Haneys. The storyline has kept the boxing world on its toes with its controversial nature, especially after the American fighter failed his drug test and tested positive for ostarine in his system. Bill Haney hasn’t stopped with his verbal sludges on him since then. But it seems he might have spit something that doesn’t fit into his narrative.
Garcia, 26, received a year-long ban after the failure and had his win against Devin Haney overturned. But he has pleaded his innocence throughout. However, ‘The Dream’ recently also launched a lawsuit against him, demanding damages. The Haney family lynchpin appeared in a conversation at ‘Tha Boxing Voice’ and addressed the fiasco surrounding Garcia and his PED test failure. He pointed out how VADA had a policy of not disclosing the amount that had been breached.
He said, “Listen, VADA has never released an amount that is in someone’s system. They just don’t.” Following this, the Haney family head honcho shunned the speculations of a discovery process to determine the amount of ostarine found in ‘KingRy’ during the tests. He continued, “No, you guys are making that up.” Haney responded negatively to whether the amount of dosage mattered.

These claims didn’t sit well with one of the podcast hosts, as they pulled up the old posts of Victor Conte dating back to May. Conte had reported that the allowed limit was 1 ng/ml, but Ryan had 6 ng/ml on the fight date. So, the hosts asked the Haney family patriarch how he might have had the details of the amount with him. They also questioned how it affected his side of the story, as Conte had actively taken the Haneys’ side and had past ties with them.
To this, Bill Haney couldn’t answer according to their satisfaction and instead declared, “Because the New York State Athletic Commission ruled that he tested positive for ostarine inside his system. I asked where did you get [6th] billionth of gram from?” These inconsistent statements might raise some eyebrows for the fans. Garcia, at 24-1, also has recently raised similar concerns.

Have an interesting take?
When Haney had slammed Garcia for “lying” and slammed him for “zero championships,” the Victorville native had a scathing response to him. He also hit back at him and shed light on the testing situation. He wrote, “I know in my heart I never took ster*ids. However it showed up in my system is a mystery.”
Besides, the lightweight boxer also explained how the Haneys were aware of the testing resulting even before the VADA and the public. He called the whole situation “very fishy.” Given the recent lawsuit slapped on Garcia, the issue continues to tangle up more. The fans might have to wait for longer if they are expecting a rerun of the exciting April fight between Garcia and Devin Haney.
