In a candid exchange with FightHype, Bill Haney, father and trainer of Devin Haney, addressed Ryan Garcia’s expressed reservations about New York as the chosen venue for their highly anticipated fight. “What were your thoughts on Ryan Garcia saying he doesn’t want the fight to happen in New York at Barclays Center? I guess cause of the taxes or something like that, what are your thoughts?” the interviewer queried. Setting the stage for a response that would underline the significance of the chosen locale.

Bill Haney’s reply was emphatic and laced with the spirit of competition, “I don’t know but this is what dreams are made of you know. If you can make it in New York, you can make it anywhere you know what I’m saying. So we’re looking forward to this opportunity and to be in Brooklyn come on man, the home of Jay-Z, the home of Biggie, the home of Zab Judah. I mean come on man we here baby. We’re looking forward to it I don’t know what Ryan is talking about. It’s the biggest stage and he’s going to get that pretty little face beat.”

Although Ryan is not getting the fight in his choice of venue, he is set to make a huge bag of money.
