With David Benavidez absolutely destroying Demetrius Andrade in their encounter on 25 November, ‘The Mexican Monster’ is vying for a clash with Canelo Alvarez. Previously, WBC had declared the Phoenix native as Canelo’s mandatory title defense. However, the destiny of that fight is cloudy at best. So, Jose Benavidez Sr. tried to push the envelope further by calling out the Mexican superstar.

Despite all the buzz, speculations, and claims, there hasn’t been a single word from Canelo’s corner. So, turning to Instagram, Benavidez Sr. shared a poster of the potential fight alongside a message calling out ‘Cinnamon.’ Benavidez Sr. wrote, “@jcgdesigns They know what the fight is that we all want to see⁣… #CaneloBenavidez.” When the boxing world got their hands on the post, a sort of frenzy took over the comment section.

Since Benavidez Sr. shared the post on Instagram, it has generated over 3.5K hearts and nearly 200 comments. While some expressed shock, others expressed their excitement with the potential fight coming to fruition.

One user claimed the poster nearly gave the user a heart attack, thinking the poster was real. “Opening up Instagram and it’s the first thing on my feed, gave myself a mini heart attack thinking it was real for a sec,” wrote the user.

Another user urged Bob Arum to make the fight happen. The user wrote, “Come, Bob, make this happen.”

While others expressed excitement about the fight, this user suggested Benavidez didn’t deserve the fight. “Payday. Benavidez doesn’t deserve the fight yet,” the user commented.

The next user confidently claimed that the fight would be the biggest draw in boxing. “The biggest fight in boxing right now,” the user wrote.

Someone else suggested that it’s the most interesting fight right now while claiming it could be the start of a trilogy between them. “There’s no other fight more interesting than this one. Probably the first of a trilogy,” wrote the user.

While fans are excited about the fight, an American Mixed Martial Artist thinks Canelo doesn’t want to fight Benavidez.

However, at the end of the video, Cejudo reiterated what Canelo had claimed about Mexican fighters while suggesting a loophole. “Canelo said he doesn’t want to fight Mexicans. But guess what, Canelo? This dude was born in the USA,” said Cejudo. While people are condemning Canelo for not taking the fight, only time will tell what Canelo does.
