Canelo Alvarez vs. Terence Crawford! A showdown that generations would remember. A showdown to determine who is number one. The world can’t wait to see it, and while the fight is still about 6 months away, the hype is already on the moon. Everyone is aware that there are many factors at play in this battle. Twist? Yes. Story? Yes. Potential? Yes. You name it, this fight truly has it all. And because of all those things, Canelo Alvarez reveals the importance of this fight is massive for him. So much so that the 34-year-old describes it as his biggest showdown yet. But wait, hasn’t he had huge fights with Sergey Kovalev and Gennady Golovkin? What about those?
Well, it appears that Canelo Alvarez has forgotten everything and is going all in for this bout. Despite having fought in numerous major battles, the man believes Terence Crawford is his most formidable opponent. And the shocking twist here is Crawford is a bigger opponent for him, more than Floyd Mayweather. Wait, WHAT? Really? Well, Yes, that’s right. The boxer himself cleared these things up in a media appearance, suggesting that his battle with Crawford would generate more income than his match with Mayweather. After all the buzz surrounding this fight, maybe he could be right when he said: “I think it’s gonna be bigger, even the Mayweather fight, it’s gonna be bigger than that (Floyd Mayweather Fight).”

If you recall, Mayweather vs. Alvarez generated 2.2 million pay-per-view (PPV) buys and earned $150 million in income. This was a record-breaking fight in terms of ticket sales, and if there is another fight that can top it, it is this one.
On one corner will be Canelo Alvarez, one of the most powerful fighters of his generation, who weighs 168 pounds and is king of that weight class. And on the other, we’ll have Terence Crawford, who is noted for his speedy nature. And this is why this face-off has such great potential. Perhaps this is one of the reasons why Netflix is also looking to broadcast the battle. This company is always looking to earn a big chunk.
