Ahead of his debut boxing bout against Jake Paul, world champion martial artist, Ben Askren, has already revealed glimpses of his boxing stunts via social media. Starting from his Rocky-inspired drills to hitting the punching bags with ‘The Problem Child’s face, Askren might have sent a subtle message to the entire celebrity boxing roster.
However, he hasn’t received enough appraisals for that. Instead, fans have ridiculed ‘Funky’ for his striking skills, and most of the fans have hesitated to offer him a chance against Paul.
That hasn’t degraded Ben Askren’s spirit, and he is still optimistic about vanquishing the undefeated Jake Paul. He connected with Jake Paul’s brother Logan Paul to talk about several things.

Ben Askren says people found fault with his technique even in his wrestling videos
The ex-UFC fighter opened up on an incident from his college when he replicated the same videos with wrestling. However, it also garnered negative reactions, which were ultimately brushed aside because Askren’s wrestling accolades turned him into one of the best in the business.
“I look pretty funny in everything I do. So even I would go back to my college career, I had a coach. I coached with Brian Steiner, Arizona state and he was a little older than me, and he kind of got out of the game. He got PhD, so he got out of the game and then we coached together and he said hey Ben, I have never really seen you wrestle too much. You got some film?” said Askren.
He added, “I said sure, I gave him a highlight tape and the next day he came, he said, everything you do is wrong. How did you win so many matches? I mean that’s just kind of, I have got used to that right. Everyone thinks that I do look strange and funny and then all of a sudden, I am in front of them and they are like this guy won’t f**** go away.”

Jake Paul has proven to be an explosive puncher in his first two fights. Boasting of two stoppage wins, ‘The Problem Child’ might aim for a third KO in his career against Ben Askren.
Despite being a world-class professional, Askren won’t be able to showcase his best combat skill, since he will box against Jake Paul. However, if he wins, it might turn him into the ‘hottest-prospect of the combat community’. Hence, there’s a lot in store for both men appearing ahead in the headliner of Triller.
