Oscar De La Hoya gives special thanks to his girlfriend on his birthday

The Golden Boy took to Instagram to thank everyone for their wishes. In his Instagram story, he wrote, “Thank you to everyone for my birthday wishes. Especially to my beautiful rock I have by my side.” The rock refers to his girlfriend, Holly Sonders. De La Hoya had first met Sonders when she interviewed him at a boxing event all the way back in 2021.

“Holly, because of you I am finally alive and kicking a*s. You take the time to known me and nurture me with unconditional love.” wrote the six-division world champion thanking his girlfriend for all the support she has provided him with. He ended it off by writing, “Let’s kick a** together and prove to the world that it is true, behind every man is a fuc**n ba**ss b*ch who is smart and has a lot of love for me”

However, as it stands, not everyone loves De La Hoya despite all his contributions to the sport. Ryan Garcia recently made a comparison between the Golden Boy and Money Mayweather. Let us see what he had to say.

Even though De La Hoya has denied any feud going on between him and his ‘former’ fighter Ryan Garcia, it is clear as day that the two do not like each other. Garcia has expressed his dislike for De La Hoya and his promotions countless times. Recently, Garcia went on Patrick Bet-David’s podcast and made a comparison between De La Hoya to Floyd Mayweather.

Garcia said, “This is my problem with Oscar. Stop going to the media and bashing Floyd. Oscar is getting to the point where he’s becoming his truest self: goofy, crazy, and whatever he wants to be and just kind of living in truth”

He further said, “Floyd has always been living in truth. He’s as real as it comes. That’s the difference. One’s, like, in your face, and the other one is moving in silence and destroying everything.” making a direct comparison between the two.
