YouTube sensation Jake Paul set out to make a name for himself in the boxing world after transitioning from the social media platform into the squared circle. While some could argue he has been remotely successful in his boxing career till now, he does have an undefeated record with wins over Anderson Silva and Tyron Woodley.
However, it looks like ‘The Problem Child’ is ready to make a move from boxing into MMA. It was recently announced that Paul has signed a multi-year contract with the MMA promotion PFL and will make his in-ring debut in 2023. Jake Paul’s first MMA fight footage resurfaces
Back in 2018, Paul set out to train in MMA after being called out by his rival KSI. He then uploaded a video on his channel which was later deleted where he sparred with former Bellator star AJ Agazarm. However, despite the Ohio-based boxer being the larger man, he was submitted by Agazarm a few minutes into the second round.
The session occurred when Paul was just 20 years old and had little to no experience in combat sports. In addition, the fans also pointed out that this session cannot be used as a criticism of Paul ahead of his MMA debut.
Fans react to Jake Paul tapping out in a sparring session
One fan stated that this was old news and just a sparring session that was light-hearted in nature. “This is old news. And it was more of a sparring session. Jake was eating donuts in between rounds. Cut it out.” he wrote.
Another fan also claimed that the session doesn’t prove that Paul won’t do well in his MMA debut. He also praised the YouTuber for his work ethic and dedication to improving himself. “That means nothing. At least he kept training and improving, despite haters & quitters.” he wrote.
A fan joked that this was before Paul had tattoos which make him look far more intimidating. “Ya but that was before he got all those really tough-looking tattoos.” he wrote.
Lastly, one fan hilariously stated that Paul wasn’t able to pay Agazarm, to take a dive in this session. “He didn’t generate enough PPV to pay for this guy to lose to him.” he wrote.

The fans certainly stood up for ‘The Problem Child’ who will now look to make some noise on the MMA scene. However, this will be a long road ahead for him with PFL being one of the elite promotions in the United States, harboring former UFC stars like Anthony Pettis, Jeremy Stephens, and other top fighters.
