The Premier Boxing Champions founder Al Haymon is a big deal behind the curtains when it comes to making big fights happen. He was playing a important role in this event too. He was advising Spence, who turned down a $25 million guaranteed purse, as a result this blockbuster event was again left hanging.

When Golden Boy Promotions chief and the former six-class world champion Oscar De La Hoya came across this storyline. He took to Twitter and wrote, My respects to @terencecrawford and exposing the Al Hamon circus. I’ve been dealing with this s**t for years, I promoted “all” the PBC fighters and its all the same bullsh*t with them, they are not in charge. I’ll be going live soon to elaborate and expose the truth.”

Now it would be interesting to see when De La Hoya goes live and exposes some details of utmost importance.

What offer did Terence Crawford give to Errol Spence Jr?

The WBO welterweight titlist made it clear that from his end every effort was made to take this possible fight to fruition, but it was Spence‘s side that walked over it.

“I have two companies, you know, that reach out to me that, you know, wanted to give me and Spence $25 million guaranteed – $25 million guaranteed, up front. So, a real guy like myself, I called Spence. ‘Hey, bro, look, listen, you know what I mean? I got this company that’s willing to give us $25 million apiece guaranteed. What’s up? What you gonna do?’ He like, ‘Twenty-five million? What about the back end?”, Crawford said.

Crawford gave all details and tried to convince Spence but the latter went on to take Haymon’s advice and never called back Crawford again.

Later, Crawford directly talked about this to Haymon, who turned it down saying he did not want a third party to enter this fight.

As of now, the possibility of this fight has run down. However, Crawford is still open to negotiation and hopes this fight would happen in the year 2023.
