The year has not been the best for Ryan Garcia and his family. While his professional life came in jeopardy after the 27-year-old boxer was slapped with a one-year ban by NYSAC, his personal life also suffered a major turmoil when his mother, Lisa Garcia was diagnosed with breast cancer in June.

The Victorville native broke the news via a video where he broke down while delivering the news. Garcia shares a very deep spiritual connection with his mother and later tweeted, “If my mom dies I’m going with her.” But Lisa Garcia, a devout Christian, has always been the voice of reason and inspiration for his children. Once again, during this turmoil, she posted an emotional message for all her five children, trying to be a source of hope for them all.

Mom shows the way

Amidst a somewhat successful battle with breast cancer, Lisa Garcia took to Instagram recently to pen down an emotional and inspirational message for all her kids. She stated that she wants to be a source of motivation for her kids, someone they can look towards and take pride in, long after she is gone. “I want my kids to look back and say.. My mom did that with everything stacked against her and still out on top,” wrote KingRy Ma.

She is clear that she won’t let this disease define her and her family and will come out on top. And if she succeeds in that, her children can look back at her life and think “She’s unstoppable so I can be too.”

Lisa and her husband Henry Garcia have five children including Ryan Garcia. She has three daughters Demi Garcia, Sasha Garcia, and Kayla Garcia. Her other son. Sean Garcia is also a boxer who has a professional record of 7-1-1 and goes by the nickname Sugar Rush.

As mentioned earlier, Lisa has always been the voice of inspiration for her kids. Earlier this year, Ryan Garcia took to ‘X’ and listed down every bad thing that has happened to him. That time as well, his mother pulled him out of the spiral and became a beacon of hope.

The voice of reason for Ryan Garcia

Earlier in June, the 25-1 boxer wrote down all the things that have been happening with him. The first thing he mentioned was his mother’s illness. Which was followed by his recent suit with Devin Haney. He also mentioned his going through the divorce and how he is being attacked from all sides. He wrote in the end, “I STILL LOVE GOD, HE IS EVERYTHING.”

His mother shared the same post on Instagram and wrote “Don’t worry about me son – I got G.O.D.” She talked about how god loves everyone and he should maintain his faith in him no matter what. She further asked her son to ask for his forgiveness.

Lisa Garcia has always asked her family to keep their trust in god in these tough times. Time after time, she has reassured her kids and always provided strength and peace during these chaotic times. Her involvement in their life has been crucial during these tough times especially for Ryan Garcia, which has most certainly affected his mental health to a certain extent.
