Evander Holyfield is one of boxing’s most famous heavyweight champions. ‘The Real Deal’ became a global star thanks to his boxing achievements as well as his infamous rivalry against Mike Tyson. However, it appears as though fans may have to give up on the idea of witnessing a trilogy between those two.

Holyfield is all set for his return to the ring on the undercard of Teofimo Lopez vs. George Kambosos Jr. The former world champion will take on the man who retired Mike Tyson, i.e. Kevin McBride. However, he has spoken up about his potential bout against ‘Iron Mike.’

The 44-10-2 boxer spoke to the media at the first press conference of the Teofimo Lopez and George Kambosos Jr. event. He said, “The fact is that, Mike and I were gonna fight. And… but, somehow, it went the other way. I don’t know if Mike’s right, or at fault or not. So, I just got another dance partner.”

This comment showed ‘The Real Deal’ is not bothered by the fight that could have happened and is instead focused on his next opponent. When asked about the future, Holyfield said, “It’s possible. I don’t know, but it’s possible. If he wants to. My whole thing is not to chase anybody.”
