Azinga Fuzile made a successful comeback to the sport with a stunning victory over Martin Ward. The South African bounced back from his first career loss to show why he deserves a world title shot. ‘Golden Boy’ took home an impressive seventh-round TKO to guarantee himself a title shot next.
The two fought in an IBF title eliminator on the undercard of the Devin Haney vs. Jorge Linares event. On paper, the fight promised to be exciting, given the differences in stance and styles. However, the Brit, who was the slight favorite, went into the bout on the back of five straight wins. Whereas, the South African was coming into the bout with a point to prove.

How did the fight between Martin Ward and Azinga Fuzile pan out?
Both fighters took a cautious approach to the bout. Ward came forward to feel out Fuzile, while the South African waited for his opponent to make the first move with the aim to counter. However, the bout came to life in the second. Both fighters landed fast and hard combinations as the other came forward.
After an uneventful third round, Fuzile got the biggest moment of the early part of the fight as he knocked down his opponent with a quick check-hook. However, the Brit responded perfectly as he came out and took the fight to his opponent. He landed longer combinations, and he hurt Fuzile.
How did the fight end?
The excitement continued in the sixth round as the then 14-1 boxer, Fuzile, took the fight right back to Ward and hurt him. However, in the seventh round, Ward suffered some sort of injury and could no longer move the way he did throughout the fight.

As a result, the South African stepped on the gas and landed a hard hook that sent the Brit down again. At this point, Ward’s corner had enough and threw in the towel. They realized Ward could no longer compete given the injury and Fuzile’s skills.
