In April this year, Eddie Hearn announced that representatives in the Middle East were thinking of staging Tyson Fury vs. Oleksandr Usyk and Anthony Joshua vs. Deontay Wilder on the same night in December. Reportedly, the event could be worth “up to $400 million” in only fighter purses if it was made. In the wake of Hearn’s subsequent statements, as Joshua declared his desire to fight Wilder in the ring, boxing fans hoped for ‘AJ’ vs. ‘The Bronze Bomber’ in December 2023.

Recently, in an interview, Shakur Stevenson predicted Anthony Joshua’s fate against Deontay Wilder inside the boxing ring. Although Stevenson admitted that he liked Joshua, he feared ‘AJ’ would be in a fix if he went up against Wilder. In his opinion, not only would Wilder win but the manner in which he would defeat ‘AJ’ would do irreparable damage to the British boxer’s career. Here is what Stevenson said.

Anthony Joshua recently defeated Robert Helenius via a KO. Following the win against Helenius, Joshua called the potential bout with Wilder “only a fight”. In addition, he mentioned that he was focused on smashing Wilder’s head in the ring. “I’m just focused on smashing his head,” said Joshua. However, contrary to Wilder’s “focus” and belief, Shakur Stevenson is of the opinion that Wilder would KO ‘AJ’. “Wilder by KO,” Stevenson declared predicting the outcome of ‘The Bronze Bomber’ vs. ‘AJ’.

I like Joshua. But he seems lost right now with changing trainers and it seems like he’s just looking for somebody to help his career. I feel he should be the one helping his own career,” Stevenson added. Following this statement, Stevenson went on to comment on Wilder’s ability to generate a powerful blow.
