When a champion walks to the ring, he wants to ensure everyone feels his grandeur, the heat of the moment, and what is to come next. For some, walks are an extension of their performance and they want to put on a show. But for others, it’s a psychological tool to gain ground. Every small advantage counts when you are fighting for a spot in history and if the prize on the line is the undisputed crown. Which music did Artur Beterbiev and Dmitry Bivol walk out to?

For their first fight in October last year, Beterbiev and Bivol stuck to their signature entrance music, which they’ve used throughout their careers. Beterbiev walked out to ‘Forward Akhmat!’ by Rizavdi Ismailov, while Bivol chose ‘Blood Type’ by Kino. Notably, both fighters have consistently used these tracks, suggesting they might hold a deeper significance—or perhaps even a psychological edge—in their performances.

Artur Beterbiev’s past walkout songs

Beterbiev, at 21-0, is your typical hard-hitting champion who looms over one’s shoulder and his size also makes him a daunting presence. When you add into the mix his walkout song, he shapes to be a fighter you don’t want to stand across from inside the arena. Interestingly, the Khasavyurt native only uses one song throughout his professional career.

Notably, the undisputed champion uses ‘Forward Akhmat’ by a Chechan singer Rizavdi Ismailov as his theme song. It’s something that he made a tradition of. Interestingly, the lyrics seem loosely focused on losing innocence, childhood, and a probable hint of going to war. But he is not alone.

What’s your perspective on:

Does Beterbiev's somber walkout song give him a psychological edge over Bivol's upbeat choice?

Dmitry Bivol’s past ring walk music

Bivol, at 23-1, has also used a particular Russian song when he has stepped into the ring. While Beterbiev has used a piece of somber music, Bivol has picked up an upbeat song in ‘Blood Type’ by a famed Russian rock band KINO Group. While the Tokmok native has made its use a tradition, he also broke it once when he fought the biggest fight of his career against Canelo Alvarez.

Bivol chose one of the most popular songs from the Australian rock band AC/DC. He blasted ‘Thunderstruck’ on his speakers, which also foreshadowed his thunderous victory over the Mexican champion. Will he opt for a new song altogether this time? The chances are pretty high. But that won’t affect the fight result, as Bivol will put his skills to the test against Beterbiev.
