The purpose here is to strengthen the wrists. Essentially, it involves the athlete taking the push-up position and leveraging their body weight on the arms. Then a sequence of reps follows, though not particularly in order. With explosive press-ups, the athlete alternates between the fist forms over a few repetitions. Clinched fists could follow the back fist and vice versa. Then, as Beterbiev does, he shifts the weight onto his fingers as well.
