Although it’s not going to be a title match, like the first two times, the Anthony Yarde and Lyndon Arthur trilogy match will be an interesting showdown. Set to happen on April 26 at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in London, their fight is a part of the undercard of Chris Eubank Jr. vs. Conor Benn. With their rivalry currently at 1-1, the upcoming rubber match will decide who’s better than whom. The Beast from the East, after losing the December 2020 match and winning in December 2021 in the ongoing rivalry, went on to conquer other ranked boxers. King Arthur, too, was on a similar conquest, winning 5 bouts apart from the loss to Yarde, except for a single loss to Dmitry Bivol in December 2023.
In fact, both have faced top competition when they weren’t fighting each other. For Lyndon Arthur, it was the current unified light heavyweight champion, Dmitry Bivol. And, for Anthony Yarde, it was a high-profile match against the then-unified light heavyweight champion Arthur Beterbiev. Although both fighters lost their respective bouts against premium competition in the weight class, fans can say they’ve gained experience. Now they know what it’s like to fight the best. And that’s what makes a third match all the more exciting. Yet, there can only be one who gets to have the post-fight celebrations. And, though there are no titles at stake, the winner will earn a shot at top contenders like Callum Smith or David Benavidez. But who would it be?
