When a boxer hits the top, there are usually two paths: hang up the gloves with pride or keep swinging and chasing greatness. For Anthony Joshua, it’s clearly the latter. Over a decade into his pro career, AJ’s still lacing up—and by the looks of it, he’s nowhere near done. And honestly, can you blame him? His fans aren’t ready to say goodbye either.

Recently spotted running through the vibrant streets of Lagos, Nigeria, AJ got a wave of love from locals that clearly hit home. What started off as a simple morning run turned into something much bigger. Fans lined up in huge numbers, waving, filming, and even sprinting alongside him just to keep up. The former two-time heavyweight champion couldn’t ignore what he was feeling. He’s always been close to the people, but this? This was different.

Through his caption, Joshua related to some of the most iconic names in sports history. “I love the game. I love the hustle,” he wrote. “I feel like one of them ball players, you know? Like Bird, Magic, James, Jordan, Kobe or something.” He even admitted that he has more than enough money to call it quits. After all, he’s worth a reported $80 million, with Forbes estimating he made around $47 million in 2020 alone. But then came the line that hit hardest: “You know I got dough, I could leave the league. But if I leave… Are the fans still gonna love me, man?” That’s the mindset of a man who isn’t done chasing legacy.

AJ’s not just afraid of being forgotten—he’s in love with boxing. And that kind of passion doesn’t go away with a paycheck. He made it clear that retirement isn’t on the table—not yet.

Even after his loss to Daniel Dubois last year at Wembley and missing out on the IBF heavyweight title, Anthony Joshua’s been active, training, and clearly staying connected to his roots. He doesn’t want to bow out and become a billionaire on the sidelines like Magic Johnson. He wants to fight, feel that fire, and give the fans what they still crave.

But just when it looked like the 35-year-old was weighing his options, fate handed him something new. A fresh challenge. An old rival from his past has stepped up again, calling him out and demanding a fight. So whether he planned to slow down or not, it’s clear now: Joshua can’t walk away. Not yet.

Is Anthony Joshua chasing legacy or just avoiding a real fight with Jarrell 'Big Baby' Miller?

Anthony Joshua accused of ducking his opponent

Six years after the PED scandal that derailed their original fight, Jarrell “Big Baby” Miller still wasn’t over it. In fact, he’s convinced Anthony Joshua ducked him. And he’s not afraid to say it loud. Fresh off a draw with Andy Ruiz last year, Miller is now gearing up to face Fabio Wardley on June 7 at Portman Road in Ipswich on a Queensberry Promotions card. With just two months to go, he’s been hitting the media rounds hard. But while he’s focused on Wardley, it’s clear—Miller’s still got unfinished business with AJ.

You’d think he’d ease off the AJ talk, especially after Olympic silver medalist Joe Joyce publicly warned him that poking the bear might not be the smartest move. But nah, not Miller. He’s not backing down. In a recent interview, a reporter tossed out the million-dollar question: What happens after the Wardley fight? Is Joshua next? Well, according to Big Baby, AJ’s team is avoiding him like the plague.

“I heard his team say he should stay away from me at all cost,”  Miller said. And he didn’t stop there. “If AJ, you know AJ’s the boss on his side, if he really wants to fight he’ll make a fight happen,”  he added. Then came the knockout line—“I think AJ’s such a pu–y nowadays that he don’t want to fight nobody with a heartbeat at this point.” Savage.

So now, Miller’s thrown down the gauntlet. He still believes he’s the one who can drag AJ into a real dogfight. But here’s the real question. Do you think Anthony Joshua could knock him out cold in the early rounds? Or is Miller just the chaos the 28-4, 25 KO boxer doesn’t want smoke with? Let us know what you think.
