Anthony Joshua and Oleksandr Usyk are set to face off once again in one of boxing’s most anticipated rematches. The pair first fought back in 2021 with Usyk beating Joshua in an upset to become the unified heavyweight champion.

In the first fight, Joshua walked away with $13.6 million and a 60% share in the PPV buys, while Usyk earned $4.1 million plus a 40% share in the PPV despite beating AJ. However, as per Boardroom, the purse for this match will be an even 50/50 split.

Anthony Joshua vs Oleksandr Usyk 2: fight purse and PPV share

The pool for the fight is set at $150 million, which means each fighter will get a staggering $75 million each, a huge increase from their previous fight.

Moreover, this does not take into account the bonuses and sponsorships that will be added to the purse. This will factor greatly for ‘AJ‘ as it is reported he could rake up $44 million in sponsorships. According to Talksport, Joshua made over $78 million in his rematch against Andy Ruiz Jr. and could easily surpass that in this fight.

The PPV split is not yet disclosed but it would add a lot of money to their purses as the fight is set to be broadcasted around the world. The bout will be streamed on the DAZN network in the US with subscriptions set at $19.99. In the UK, the fight will be broadcasted on the Sky Sports network and will go for £26.95 or $31.88. If the fight crosses the million PPV buys mark, both fighters could earn upwards of $20 million each in addition to their purses.

While Usyk was a former cruiserweight, he outclassed Joshua in their first outing. He is the current champion and will be the favorite to win coming into this fight. Moreover, the Ukrainian boxer will look to keep his undefeated record of 19-0 intact. Joshua will certainly have his work cut out for this fight, but the former champ will be motivated to earn his titles back.

Moreover, the winner of this fight would also be eyeing Tyson Fury, who will have to vacate his WBC belt if he stayed retired. The winner of this match could very well go on to become the undisputed heavyweight champion. A feat that hasn’t been accomplished in 22 years.
