The rematch for the unified WBA, IBF, WBO, and IBO heavyweight titles between Anthony Joshua and Oleksandr Usyk will take place in July. As excitement around the heavyweight clash builds, Matchroom Boxing’s Eddie Hearn has provided a massive update regarding the highly anticipated showdown.
In an exclusive interview with IFL TV, the renowned British promoter gave a detailed analysis of the upcoming matchup between his fighter Joshua and the reigning unified champ Oleksandr Usyk.

He said, “To be honest, there’s a lot of people messaging me today. Saying, I hear that you’re making a big announcement tomorrow about AJ. We’re not. We have agreed on a deal with the site and the date. The working date of July 23rd, we are ready to announce.”
Furthermore, he entertained the problem of delay. Hearn added, “The question about will there be a delay? I mean, if there is, you’re talking about two weeks and it’s for no other reason than just time and making sure that we can promote the fight in the right way.”

Though Hearn will make an official announcement later, as of now, according to him, the most probable site for this much-awaited event, is Saudi Arabia.
The fight was most likely to happen earlier, but got delayed due to non-boxing reasons.
