Having rocked Francis Ngannou twice in the second round, Anthony Joshua hit the former with a destructive blow that saw ‘The Predator’ knocked out in a manner no one could have ever imagined. In this context, following this event, while Claressa Shields among others celebrated boxing’s victory over MMA, several people showed concern for Ngannou. His opponent Joshua lauded Ngannou and advised the latter to not quit boxing.
Besides hoping Francis would go a long way, Joshua expressed his desire to contribute to the Francis Ngannou Foundation which is dedicated to improving lives in Cameroon and Africa. Here is what ‘AJ’ told the former UFC champion.

Having stopped Ngannou with less than a minute left in the second round, Anthony Joshua greatly praised Francis Ngannou whom he earlier branded as a “gimmick” opponent. During his post fight interview in the ring, Joshua claimed he was impressed by Ngannou’s match against Fury. In addition to it, ‘AJ’ called Ngannou an inspiration and encouraged the crowd to cheer for Francis. “He’s a great champion. And this doesn’t take away anything of his capabilities. He can come come again. I told him he should not leave boxing. He can do well,” said Anthony Joshua.

“He’s two fights in and he’s fought the best. He can go a long way if he stays dedicated,” added the former Heavyweight champion. And when he shook Ngannou’s hands after the fight, Joshua told Ngannou, “You’re an inspiration. Don’t leave boxing.” To which, Ngannou answered, “No, I will not.” Soon, His Excellency Turki Alalshikh entered the frame to say he was proud of Francis.
At this, Joshua added, “I’d like to support his foundation.” In this context, it is worth mentioning that Ngannou has so far been financing the foundation alone. So, if Joshua keeps his promise, it would certainly help Ngannou and the people he cares for. Meanwhile, after the fight, His Excellency Turki Alalshikh placed his hand of assurance on Ngannou’s shoulders and said, “Next Tyson.” Maybe, we will also see Fury vs. Ngannou II.
