Anthony Joshua’s Promoter Reveals The Offer They’re “Prepared” To Take From Tyson Fury

Anthony Joshua would likely square off against Deontay Wilder in 2024 after his KO victory over Robert Helenius. In the wake of Joshua’s latest win, promoter Eddie Hearn engaged in a conversation with Gareth A. Davies from Boxing Social. During his interaction with Davies, Hearn revealed Joshua’s potential plans after the Helenius fight. While Joshua’s interest in fighting Wilder is known, Davies asked Hearn if he would petition the WBC to make AJ and Wilder a final eliminator for Tyson Fury.

In his reply, Hearn informed that his act could potentially affect the “bargaining position“. In addition, he mentioned that Tyson Fury already agreed to a 60/40 split. Along these lines, Hearn went on and explained how the split would change depending upon the position Anthony Joshua is in.

As per Eddie Hearn, if Anthony Joshua becomes Tyson Fury’s mandatory, Joshua would take a 70/30 split. However, if Joshua beats Deontay Wilder in the ring, Fury and AJ could perhaps settle for a 50/50 split. Anyway, Hearn declared that for the time being a 60/40 split was fair and square. “I mean if he beats Wilder, AJ. I think it becomes 50/50. But Fury as champion 60/40 at the moment is fair,” announced Eddie Hearn.

By and by, Eddie Hearn referred to the time when Fury’s promoter Frank Warren offered champion Joshua a 50/50 split. As per Warren, following his victory over Wilder, ‘The Gypsy King’ became “bigger” than AJ in boxing. Observing the same logic, Hearn announced that after his potential win over ‘The Bronze Bomber’, Joshua should not settle for less than a 50/50 split either. “Don’t forget when AJ was champion and Fury wasn’t he said he would only take the fight at 50/50. But we’re prepared to take 60/40 which has kind of been agreed ultimately anyway,” Hearn added.
