Unified Word Heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua is going to embrace the soccer community soon, as he is the latest addition to EA Sports FIFA 21. If not in the real-life, Joshua will at least play against the top-rated footballers in the virtual mode, thus sending sports fans into a frenzy. This massive crossover comes after a year of VOLTA in EA’s FIFA, which enables gamers to pick the five-a-side team.

This year Volta mode will hold the British heavyweight pugilist in its roster. If it’s not enough, there’s much more in store. Apart from Anthony Joshua, DJ Diplo will also join the venture. Thus, gamers can recruit ‘AJ’ and Diplo on their side to test them against the elite footballers.

Anthony Joshua is the new king of cross overs

The unified heavyweight champion took to social media and dropped the sensational news that he will be a part of FIFA 21’s ‘Volta groundbreakers’. He wrote, “Who wants smoke”

It is no surprise that Joshua’s entry to FIFA will be massive, but which role will he play? The Volta series enables gamers to make their own characters and explore the game with five-a-side-tournaments. This was revealed in EA FIFA 20, where the VOLTA series made its debut.

It will be interesting for gamers to see if FIFA 21 brings in something new or the VOLTA continues to operate in the same fashion. Apart from crossover stars like Joshua and DJ Diplo, football legends like Kaka and Eric Cantona will also feature in the VOLTA groundbreakers series.

Joshua’s virtual move to soccer is still the most talked-about incident amongst all. Especially when it comes after his appearance in EA’s UFC 4, a few months ago. The Brit heavyweight is a playable character in UFC’s latest venture alongside the WBC heavyweight champion Tyson Fury.
