Former multi-institute champion Andy Ruiz Jr expressed his views on the recent headline-grabbing heavyweight boxing match-up. Alexander ‘Sasha’ Povetkin stopped Dillian Whyte in the fifth round of their scheduled contest in a possible ‘KO of the Year’ performance. The Russian mounted an impressive comeback after he dropped to the canvas in the previous round by ‘The Body Snatcher’.
Dillian Whyte looked impressive through the bout as he landed significant strikes on Povetkin. Moreover, he displayed a great sense of depth to his range as he evaded a heavy offense coming his way. The boxing community largely believed that Whyte was on his way to secure a win before the shocking upset.

Andy Ruiz Jr. fires away
The Mexican boxer had fighting words for Dillian Whyte who at one point was vying for a fight with him. The two elite sluggers were placed on the same card when Ruiz Jr. lost his championship status to Anthony Joshua in their rematch. ‘The Body Snatcher’ looked at the loss as an opportunity to secure a lucrative bout.
Whyte began rallying fight fans and garnered interest in a fight after hurling insults towards Andy Ruiz. The former champion didn’t take very kindly to being put down by Dillian considering that both men lost to Joshua. Ruiz swiftly dismissed a fight with the Brixton native and proclaimed he had higher-profile opponents in mind.
Following his lethal defeat, Andy Ruiz wasted no time in undercutting Whyte as he blasted the former interim WBC champion.

“I was so happy that Whyte f–king got his ass knocked the f–k out.” He continued, “You know why? Because he doesn’t have respect for the fighters, that’s what gets me pissed off.”
Given the past history between the two, both fighters may stare across from each other under the bright lights. Moreover, a fight between the two is a sure-shot firefight that is likely to end with a concussion.
