Tyson Fury is keen on getting back in the ring. For the longest time, he was speculated to fight Oleksandr Usyk to unify the heavyweight belts. However, the off-court negotiations between the fighters were not prolific as the fight appears to be off the cards. Each fighter is blaming the other for failing to meet the demands.
For all we know, Fury is looking forward to competing again and he is not short of opponents. After his unification bout with Usyk collapsed, Andy Ruiz Jr.’s name was brought up by Fury’s co-promoter. Many in the boxing world suggest that Fury’s camp is considering this fight with Ruiz as a “tune-up”. The same did not sit well with Ruiz’s former trainer how Fury’s camp is not looking at Ruiz as a threat.

Andy Ruiz’s trainer warns Tyson Fury to not get “ahead of himself”
It appears that many in the boxing world consider this potential bout with Ruiz as a “prep” for Fury ahead of his unification bout. But the former trainer of the ‘Destroyer’ shared his two-piece on this. Manny Robles is the former trainer of Ruiz who does not think Ruiz is the type of boxer that can be overlooked.
Manny Robles in an interview for iFL TV stated, “It sounds like they’re getting way ahead of themselves and they’re looking at Andy as a tune up” Robbles suggests Fury not approach the fight like that. He stated, “Andy is not a tune-up. You see what happened to Joshua. They thought it was a prep fight and he ended up getting knocked out.”
Ruiz has shown time and time again that he is a force to be reckoned with. His victory against Joshua was one of the biggest upsets in recent times. Not to mention, in 37 professional bouts, the Mexican fighter has only been defeated twice. His accolades evidently suggest that he should not be overlooked. However, only time will reveal whether or not Fury is truly overlooking him as Robles suggests.

As per Marca, Arum stated, “We’ll be looking for the best man available to fight him this summer in the UK.” He then named who he thinks is next. He added, “Maybe it will be Andy Ruiz or someone like that. If Fury wins, and Usyk will be fighting Dubois in the UK.”
