Former heavyweight champion, Andy Ruiz Jr., has given fans another update on his incredible body transformation. The hard-hitting heavyweight flaunted his incredible quad muscles as he prepares for his return to the sport.

Ruiz Jr. faced immense criticism for being overweight in his rematch with Anthony Joshua. ‘The Destroyer’ then switched camps and signed with Eddy Reynoso and his team. As a result, he has embarked on an inspiration transformation.

The 31-year-old gave fans another insight into his fresh look. He shared a workout video on his Instagram where he was doing an upright row in the gym. However, what caught the eye of many fans were the quads of the heavyweight.

The video displayed Ruiz Jr.’s shredded quadriceps muscles, which no one would have associated with him before his transformation. This showed the effect of the incredible leg workouts the former champion has done. Moreover, it also proved that Ruiz Jr. not only lost weight, but also built up muscle.

‘Destroyer’ relies on his speed and power in his fights. And in boxing, power comes from the legs thanks to a firm base. Therefore, seeing Ruiz Jr. with massive leg muscles will be a scary prospect for the other heavyweights.

Why has Andy Ruiz Jr. trained so hard?

The former champion did not fight in 2020. Instead, Ruiz Jr. dedicated the year to focus on his disciplined training regime. However, he will return on April 24 against a veteran heavyweight in Chris Arreola.

Despite this, Ruiz Jr. is training for bigger fights after Arreola. The former champion has stated his desire to get the belts back. In addition, he has also called out Anthony Joshua for a trilogy and explained that it has been his primary motivation.

However, the former champion has also expressed his desire to face Deontay Wilder. And if Ruiz Jr. wants to have any chance against the ‘The Bronze Bomber’, he would have to be in the best shape of his life.

‘The Destroyer’ also got into a verbal battle with Dillian Whyte. That would be a fight that could increase his chances of another world title shot. Therefore, there are several options lined up for Ruiz Jr. However, all these fights require him to be in the best shape he possibly can be in.
