Ruiz Jr., last fought all the way back in September 2022 against Luis Ortiz, a fight he won via a unanimous decision. However, the fights that put him on the map were against former unified heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua back in 2019, which produced one win and one loss. Andy Ruiz Jr. hit the jackpot with his fights against Anthony Joshua. Before their first bout in June 2019, Ruiz was pulling in about $300,000 in total career earnings. But get this! And then, of course, there had to be a rematch, right? And it happened! In their rematch in December 2019, even though Ruiz lost, his earnings went through the roof. He took home somewhere between $13 and $14 million, almost doubling what he made in their first fight. This huge payout showed just how much buzz and interest there was in their rivalry.

Even with the loss in the rematch, Ruiz’s financial situation took a big leap forward. His net worth quickly grew like never before. And the good news is, he’s still training hard and there’s talk of a possible third fight with Joshua. If that fight happens, it could easily top the $20 million he earned from their first two bouts, making it the biggest payday of his career. Get why he wants the third fight so badly?

Have an interesting take?

Andy Ruiz Jr. has racked up an impressive $18 million net worth from his boxing career and endorsements. His financial story is pretty impressive, thanks to big fight earnings and some smart sponsorship deals. Ruiz has been cashing in on endorsement deals with brands like Fashion Nova and Snickers, which have helped boost his financial standing even more.

The big bucks started rolling in from his matches with Anthony Joshua. When Ruiz pulled off that major upset win against Joshua in June 2019, he walked away with $7 million, including bonuses and a cut of the pay-per-view. In their rematch in December 2019, even though he didn’t win, he still took home around $9 million before factoring in the pay-per-view share. Those fights really helped boost his net worth and solidify his spot in heavyweight boxing.

But it’s not just the Joshua fights that have made him money. In 2018, Ruiz earned $500,000 for beating Devin Vargas and another $200,000 for his fight with Alexander Dimitrenko. His bout with Chris Arreola in May 2022 was worth $1.5 million plus a piece of the pay-per-view pie. Even with all this cash, though, Ruiz’s net worth is still a bit lower compared to other top boxers like Anthony Joshua and Floyd Mayweather.

Despite the impressive numbers, Ruiz has had his share of challenges, like dealing with inactivity and the high costs of future fights. What he does next will be key to keeping his status and continuing to grow his wealth in the boxing world.

Even though Andy Ruiz Jr. fell off in the past couple of years, he did raise his financial situation considerably. However, during the couple of years he stayed out of the ring, that number may have gone down, which could be a reason behind his comeback to boxing. But that’s just speculation. Regardless, he stands to take home a decent paycheck by fighting Miller in the coming weekend, which might come to light after the fight! What are your thoughts on Ruiz’s biggest money makers?
