MMA GOAT Anderson Silva recently announced that he would be transitioning into the sport of boxing. Surprisingly, he even had a boxing match with Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. on June 19, 2021, winning by decision. And, it has been reported that he will face YouTuber turned boxer, Jake Paul. Meanwhile, Silva took to social media to confirm the news about his fight with Paul.

Paul will face Silva at the Gila River Arena in Phoenix, Arizona on October 29, 2022. He will enter the bout with a 5-0-0 record and 4 knockouts. Silva, on the hand, is coming in with a 3-1-0 record in boxing with 2 knockouts. However, it is worth noting that he also has a stellar MMA record to back him up.

Silva took to Instagram to open up about his fight against Paul. In an Instagram story, he said, “Yea, this is true. Jake and I have a fight. October 29th in Phoenix, Arizona. Showtime, yes, that’s so special.”

Moreover, he also thanked his fans for their support. Silva said. “I want to say thank you to my fans. Thank you, everyone, to give me support for this fight. For continue, doing my job, for continue, doing something I love. And, I’m so happy. I’m so so happy.”

Further, Silva repeated the message in his native language to his fans.

Jake Paul vs Anderson Silva fight rules leaked

It comes with no argument that the Jake Paul vs Anderson Silva showdown will be a sight to witness. Meanwhile, Silva’s coach Luiz Dorea recently leaked the rules of the fight.

Dorea was in an interview with Sherdog. In conversation, he opened up about the fight rules, saying, “What Anderson just told me is that it would be professional boxing rules. Eight rounds of three minutes [each] with 10-ounce gloves, and, of course, with knockouts being allowed. The weight, if I’m not wrong, will be 85kg.”
