After serving 44 days in prison, Gervonta Davis got released on Friday after he was allegedly charged with violating his house arrest rules. The boxer had moved into a luxury hotel without permission, which led the Baltimore court to take action against him. Before the ruling, Davis had knocked out Ryan Garcia and handed him the first defeat of his career. Since then, he’s also been called out by Devin Haney and Shakur Stevenson.

Now, Davis can take on pending fights and get involved in the drama he has missed out on during his prison time. Happier than ever now that he’s out of jail, the boxer posted a selfie on his Instagram Story. He held up stacks of cash in front of the mirror and smiled for the camera. Although his Florida mansion was robbed while he was imprisoned, Davis didn’t hold back from flaunting his money. But the fans were not too impressed by the opulent display.

The Instagram story was shared by Michael Benson on Twitter, with the caption: “Gervonta Davis on Instagram today…” It’s not a surprising move from Davis for his fans, as he did something similar even during his last fight. After the press conference, Davis flaunted around $100,000 in front of Ryan Garcia.

A lot of fans criticized ‘Tank’ for showing off his wealth on Instagram, unable to find the purpose behind such a display.

One of the fans, Wayne, mocked the boxer by pointing out that despite being this rich, he still owns an iPhone 8.

Another fan, Martin Mulcahey, blamed the boxer getting robbed on such displays of opulence.

Patrick Murphy drew a parallel between the behaviors of Floyd Mayweather, Devin Haney, and Gervonta Davis. He wondered how taking a picture with money would ever come across as impressive.

Umar Lee made a light-hearted joke as he called on people to inform ‘Tank’ about debit cards so that he doesn’t have to deal with too much hard cash.
