Ryan Garcia has engaged in out-of-control behavior for the majority of 2024. Whether it was writing xenophobic or homophobic tweets that forced the WBC to expel him or trashing his ex-wife Andrea Celina’s house and threatening her, which eventually led to the Mexican model filing a restraining order, Garcia chose the path of self-destruction. Add to the mix his mother’s cancer diagnosis, and Garcia has been finding it very difficult to cope with the current circumstances of his life. But what can his aforementioned harmful behavior be attributed to?
Well, according to an earlier interview given to Fight Hub TV, Ryan Garcia’s father, Henry Garcia, revealed that the 26-year-old Victorville native has a drinking problem. “What I am seeing is that I would love for him to get some type of therapy when it comes to his drinking. I’m being real. He says he can control it, I hope he can. But if he doesn’t, that’s what I am talking about. Get that therapy so he can stop,” Henry stated.
Meanwhile, privy to her son’s many drunken stupors, Ryan Garcia’s mother, Lisa Garcia, too, has tried to raise awareness about the dangers of alcoholism via her Instagram account. In her Instagram stories, she shared a short clip of former NFL athlete and lead pastor of Doxa Church, Eddie Williams, sermonizing about the urgent need to stop consuming alcohol.

“Some of you respectfully, need to stop drinking altogether. You need to quit alcohol. You have abused your freedom and it’s not funny anymore. You are not 22. You are not 21. It is not funny anymore and it is killing you. And truthfully, you are medicating and maybe you are getting through, maybe you are functional. But, deep down, you are sad and lonely. Maybe. you are grieving. You are running from something and you are afraid,” Williams lamented.
Laying down the importance of sobriety, Williams emphasized that it will help people have a “clear mind” so that “they can hear from god.” Resonating with Eddie’s message, Lisa wrote, “Alcohol is poison to the body mind and spirit when done abusively.”
On a different note, Garcia’s parents showed their support for their son when he was being crucified on social media for his offensive comments.
