The rivalry between Ryan Garcia and Devin Haney is firing up and has escalated to a full-blown war. Earlier this year, ‘King Ry’ failed his dr*g test and tested positive for ostarine. Because of that, the Victorville native received a one-year ban, and his victory against Haney was overturned.
However, Devin Haney took things one step further as he filed a lawsuit against Garcia. The duo has been on a verbal war since then, attacking each other at every chance they get. A few days ago, Garcia also roped in VADA and Victor Conte, calling the whole situation “very fishy.” Conte did not let the snide remarks go idly by as he responded while supporting VADA and its management.

Conte took to his ‘X’ account and posted an excerpt from his 14-year-old interview with Dr. Margaret Goodman where he talked about the use of PEDs in sports. He talked about how “Boxing must establish anti-doping protocols that include a reasonable number of random blood and urine tests leading up to a fight.”
In 2010 Victor Conte did an interview with Dr. Margaret Goodman for The Ring magazine called “Can Boxing Stop The Use Of PEDs?” “Boxing must establish anti-doping protocols that include a reasonable number of random blood and urine tests leading up to a fight,” said Conte. “This… pic.twitter.com/LW4grGXbKo

Conte further stated, “Dr*g use in boxing can be significantly reduced, but it will take effective leadership.” The founder of SNAC Nutrition has been a long-time advocate for strict protocols in boxing since his name came up in the BALCO scandal. In several interviews, he has talked about how people in power have to act and enforce these measures to control the use of PEDs.
Conte then advocated for the VADA president Dr. Margaret Goodman and vice president Dr. Flip Homansky, stating that, “they are the two most qualified doctors in boxing to provide effective anti-do**ng procedures.”

Ryan Garcia attacks VADA
The Victorville native has always maintained innocence and has denied the use of any kind of PEDs. In the early stages of the scandal, Garcia attacked Devin Haney while questioning his close relationship with Victor Conte. Conte has had a big involvement in the establishment of VADA.
A few days ago, after Bill Haney’s scathing attacks, Garcia wrote, “I know in my heart I never took ster*ids. However it showed up in my system is a mystery,” questioning the validity of the test. He further mentioned how the Haneys were aware of the test results even before the VADA.

Given the serious nature of the lawsuit, all these back-and-forth make things rather tricky. Furthermore, it would be a fair assumption to think that we have not seen the last of this saga and we can expect a reply from either Bill Haney or Ryan Garcia soon enough.
