It is almost expected for combat sports athletes to have feuds and make harsh commentaries about their rivals, and boxing fans are familiar with this. Keith Thurman has decided to change the narrative this time and has reacted unusually to Terence Crawford‘s “tables have turned” remark directed towards him and Danny Garcia.
Thurman does not quite fit the stereotypical image of a new-age boxer. A fighter who drives a Prius, talks about religion and philosophy, and plays the wooden flute is unheard of. The music-playing philosopher has done something exceptional again.

‘Bud’ took a shot at the two boxers, refusing to let them go against the top pound-for-pound fighter referring to himself. Crawford seemed salty about the fact that they had earlier refused to fight him when he wanted to get in the ring with them. Now that he holds the power, he wants them to get a taste of their own medicine.
Thurman, however, seemed quite calm about this. “Do what you want with your career. If you don’t ever want to fight me, that’s fine.” Thurman said and went to cheer Crawford on and encouraged him to become the ‘King of Omaha’. “I got love for you, kid. I got love for you, I got gratitude, I’m grateful for everything, for living this life man.”
Thurman recently lost a loved one, and this incident has softened his heart towards his fellow beings. Explaining how life is too short to be holding grudges, he had some advice for the three-division world champion. “Be good. Be a powerhouse. Do what you want to do with your career, man. You’re in a very, very blessed situation, man.” He even lauded Crawford on his performance in the bout with Errol Spence Jr.
How were the tables turned earlier?
Mocking both Thurman and Garcia, Crawford had posted on X, reminding them of the time they had deemed him unworthy of a fight. He has now gotten back at them by refusing them a chance to fight him. Crawford wrote ” My my how the tables have turned. @DannySwift you @keithfthurmanjr will never and I mean never get a shot at the top dog and that’s me. Y’all ho* a**ess didn’t want no smoke when I wanted to fight (re)member. Now y’all want to fight so bad go keep fighting each other like b4(before).”
