Watching her sister train, spar and fight inspired her to put the gloves on and follow her sister’s tracks in the sport.
At first, Cindy Serrano and her trainer Jordan Maldonado tried to dissuade Amanda from entering the challenging world of boxing.
They even arranged for her to spar with a male boxer who would go all out. Amanda Serrano reportedly left her first boxing experience crying but she kept coming back to the gym for more.

After winning 2 consecutive amateur fights, she began fighting professionally in 2009.
