Will Amanda Serrano's relaxed training diet give her the edge over Katie Taylor this time?

Just ten more days before Amanda Serrano and Katie Taylor open a new chapter in history. Two years after their trailblazing headliner at Madison Square Garden, on November 15, the two world champions will step into the ring once again. The fight, a co-main fixture to the Mike TysonJake Paul showdown, takes place at the Cowboys Stadium for Taylor’s undisputed light welterweight title.

Both boxers are expected to put in their all when they meet. For most fighters, the lead-up to fights is usually filled with intense training that follows a strict regimen, including dietary restrictions. However, in Amanda Serrano’s case, there seems to be an exception—when it comes to food. The unified featherweight champion, it appears, is rather enjoying her time as her training camp draws to a close.

Given the fact that she is challenging Katie Taylor at 140 pounds, through her Instagram post, ‘The Real Deal’ shared, she can indulge herself when it comes to food. “The nicest thing about fighting at 140 is I can eat really well after training,” she said, adding further, “It’s never this fun training for a fight, usually lol.

However, she revealed that her regular training follows a tough routine. She follows a planned meal schedule. But it often runs counter to her personal expectations. She said, “The only drawback is that, as a woman, I love looking fitter, and strict eating makes that easier 😋.”

Nevertheless, she’s able to find a silver lining in the cloud. Despite the strict training regimen and eating plan, Serrano mentioned that she always felt ‘strong and not deprived’. The featherweight champion further updated that the training camp was almost over.

The fight with Katie Taylor could have taken place earlier. It was scheduled for July 20 on the Mike Tyson-Jake Paul card. However, ‘Iron’ Mike’s medical emergency led to a cancellation and subsequent postponement to the current date.

Amanda Serrano nonetheless had a plan. She decided to continue with a match against a fighter from the 140-pound weight class. Though the bout with Tyson was cancelled, Jake Paul and the team propped up another fight schedule. The date continued as planned; however, the venue shifted to Amalie Arena Arena in Tampa, Florida. Jake Paul took on mixed martial artist and bare-knuckle fighter Mike Perry.

Amanda Serrano fought Tampa resident Stevie Morgan, a light welterweight. It didn’t take much time before the featherweight champion let everyone know why she’s one of the best in the sport. As Serrano went full throttle, it didn’t take long for the referee to realize Morgan’s precarious situation. It was time to pull the curtains and halt the fight.
