In some of his memorable defeats, Mike Tyson faced James Douglas, Evander Holyfield, and Lenox Lewis. While Tyson fought Douglas and Lewis only once in boxing, he squared off against Evander Holyfield twice. However, all four bouts were title fights and there was always a swarm of expectations around ‘Kid Dynamite’.

While Lennox Lewis and James Douglas both defeated Mike Tyson via scoring knockouts against him, Tyson lost the first fight against Holyfield via a technical knockout in the ring. In the second fight against Holyfield, Tyson was visibly overpowered and he lost the bout via disqualification after infamously biting Holyfield’s ear.

Even after years, fans are amazed contemplating Tyson’s most painful defeats in the ring. While according to some, Tyson was way past his prime during these defeats, others believe that he no longer had that hunger in him. Well, here’s what fans are saying.

According to one fan, “Tyson was way past his best fighting only for money.”

However, one acknowledged the abilities of Lewis. “No excuses, Lennox beat Mike fair and square, it happens in boxing, that night Lennox was the better fighter. It’s like they say you can’t know victory until you first taste defeat.”

Meanwhile, one said, “The most painful defeat of Mike Tyson for me was Buster Douglas. I was really hurt as if I had got defeated myself.”
