In the long-awaited Premier Boxing Champions event featuring David Benavidez and Demetrius Andrade on Showtime pay-per-view, young prospect Curmel Moton, a 17-year-old talent associated with Mayweather Promotions, exhibited his abilities in a scheduled 4-round match against Hunter Turbyfill (3-0, 1 KO). The fight which took place on Saturday night at the Michelob Ultra Arena at Mandalay Bay Resort & Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada, was a chance for the young talent to showcase his skills.

Moton didn’t let the fans down as he showed off his impressive prowess in the match-up. Not only did he win, but he won in the first round of the match-up. This marks the second time he has won in the first round. However, even after receiving so much attention, he still remains humble as he shares his thoughts on the opportunities he is able to receive to broadcast his skills.

Curmel Moton plans for the title

Recently, after the second victory of his career, Curmel Moton did an interview on The Mayweather Channel and answered several questions. When asked if defeating undefeated opponents boosted his confidence, Moton remained humble in his answer. He expressed his confidence in his abilities and his eagerness to face top-tier opponents. He stated, “I’ve always believed in my skills. I love that I am getting opportunities to showcase my skills against high-level opponents.”

He also added, “I don’t want to go to Mexico and fight tomato cans- stuff like that, and then people have something to say. I feel like my opponents are going to keep getting higher and higher and I’m going to keep performing better and better.”

When queried about his timeline for achieving a title, Moton offered a realistic outlook, stating, “Realistically, I’d say about 13-14 fights, I should have a title by then.” The sentiment aligns with the perspective of Jeff Mayweather, who noted, “That’s what I said. Floyd fought for the title in his 13th fight.” As Moton anticipates the next phase of his career, he remains focused on continuous improvement and seizing the opportunities that come his way. Notably, Moton took inspiration from Mayweather prior to the fight.

Moton plans to make it big

In another segment, he also discussed the popularity of the events he has fought in. He stated, “I like it, as soon as, every time I come out, there’s always a whole bunch of fans right there. And now people are starting to know I’m fighting out after the main event so, there’ll be a lot more people.”

This young talent has quickly risen to popularity among the fans. His record in the amateur ranks is out there for all to see. He has found himself on the receiving end of all the love from the fans. Discussing the attention of the fans, he shared his hopes for getting bigger and eventually being able to become the main card of an event. He stated, “Man, eventually, I have my own card soon.”
