The tension between Ukraine and Russia has worsened with the passing of time, and now the situation is very chaotic and far from ideal.

Amid all the chaos, the major organizations of professional boxing, WBC, WBO, WBA, and IBF have taken a strong stance with the welfare of boxing and the world in mind.

WBC boxing president Mauricio Sulaiman took to Instagram to make a post. The post comprises an emblem of the four major organizations and a long anti-war message.

The caption goes: “The World of Boxing United for Immediate Peace. The four boxing governing organizations in the world join together to express their position with regards to the tragic war which is taking place as Russia has invaded Ukraine.“Just as the world claims for cease of fire, our organizations have decided to not sanction any boxing championships in Russia. Just as this war has put a stop to boxing in Ukraine, our organizations will not sanction fights in Russia until further assessment of the situation. Boxing stalwarts asking for ceasefire and peace

Several former and reigning world champions in different weight classes come from Ukraine. They showed deep concern amid the heavy tension that is engulfing the lives of their countryfolk.

The former heavyweight champions Wladimir Klitschko and Vitali Klitschko have joined the Ukrainian reserve force to serve their country in hard times.

Another reigning heavyweight champion Oleksandr Usyk and the three-weight class champion Vasyl Lomachenko have taken a firm anti-war stand as well.
