Chisora has always been one fighter who is never shy to speak what’s on his mind. However, on this occasion, Del Boy went all out and made some serious accusations against some of boxing’s top promoters. In the pre-fight press conference, Chisora detailed why he would not talk badly about Fury like he usually did with other opponents.
He stated that Fury was the man giving him an opportunity to fight for the title when nobody else would. This included his renowned promoters like Bob Arum, Frank Warren, and even his own promoter, Eddie Hearn.

“If I can sit here and try and be more aggressive to Tyson and try and say bad words, I cannot, because the man I’m seeing looking at right now. He’s giving me an opportunity when Frank Warren wouldn’t give me an opportunity when Bob Arum was saying they don’t want to give me an opportunity. When even my own promoter, Eddie Hearn didn’t want to give me an opportunity.” he said,
Although many feel that Chisora is not deserving of a title shot, Fury was the one who reached out with a helping hand. However, these accusations by Chisora could put a stain on his relationships with the top promoters in the sport.

Chisora then also went on to thank ‘The Gypsy King’ for all he had done. He claimed that Fury was the only one who called him for a fight, which was the reason he would not talk badly about the heavyweight champion.

“He called me up and said to me I want to fight you. I want to give you a big payday and I said yes let’s make it happen and for me to sit here and try and talk sh*t and try and say so many bad things about this man who’s actually giving me food on the table for my kids, I cannot. Do you understand?” he added.
Although Chisora might be thankful that Fury has given him this opportunity, this revelation now raises another question. All sports, including boxing, should be fair where deserving fighters get the opportunity at the championship title. However, Fury handing out title shots at his own convenience could have a lasting effect on the sport.
