We have only seen Gervonta Davis knocking his opponents out cold with his hard-hitting punches. He has now revealed the time the tables turned and he was the one likely to get floored. Surprisingly, this was not during any boxing match or training session. Davis has an undefeated streak of 29-0, with nearly all his wins coming via knockout. Rarely, has Davis been rocked hard in in his boxing career.
Interestingly, Davis has only been knocked down once in the squared circle by Leo Santa Cruz in 2020. However, in a recent interview with Funny Marco on Open Thoughts, Davis recalled the time he actually got “hit hard” outside of the boxing ring. Who do you think delivered the blow to the undefeated world champion?

The event happened after a brief encounter with the police about unpaid bills. Someone had been recording the interaction. Davis chased the person and his friend down and got them to delete the recording. However, while the friend was busy deleting the file, the other person managed to land a punch on Davis.
“Somebody was recording me cause the police went- Somebody ain’t pay the bill. The police when they let me go, I catch him, I asked him to delete the video on his phone. His friend end up deleting the video.” Additionally, Davis was under the influence as well. This made him think he was getting knocked out this time. “As he was deleting the video, the guy I had around the collar hit me, hit me hard and I was intoxicated and sh*t like that so I thought he was gonna knock me out. I wanted to catch him, you know. Knock on his door like- let me get a fair one.” ‘Tank’ wanted to get square with the person ever since.

Following a hit-and-run car crash in November 2020 that left four people injured, Davis opted for a plea deal, admitting guilt to four traffic offenses. Baltimore circuit court judge Althea M Handy had sentenced the 28-year-old boxer to 90 days of home detention. On top of that, he had three years of probation. This decision came merely 13 days after Davis’s victory over Ryan García in the highly anticipated fight of the year’s boxing calendar.
Additionally, she mandated Davis to fulfill 200 hours of community service as part of his sentence. Surprisingly, Davis violated the terms of his home detention, resulting in a 90-day sentence. He spent 44 days behind bars before they released him on June 2.
