The world had barely recovered from the shocking first-round knockout of André August. Now comes another bombshell from Jake Paul. ‘The Problem Child’ will reportedly join hands with USA Boxing ahead of their campaign for the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris, France. Per the available details, he will guide and help the team through image management.

Paul will train with the United States boxing qualifiers at the Colorado Springs-based training base next year. Part of the agreement would require him to boost the team’s social media profile. The 26-year-old Ohioan scored a statement-making victory over a professional boxer in Florida last week. According to the latest news, he might as well travel with the team to Paris. The development follows boxing great Manny Pacquiao, who announced his Olympic dream in September this year.

Jake Paul took to his X/Twitter account yesterday evening. He wrote that his devotion to the sport outshines what he has thus far achieved inside the ring. Outside as well, he wants to leverage the maximum benefits out of the immense clout he enjoys across the social media world. Stating that he will support anyone who is willing to toil hard for the country, Jake Paul said, “I believe the United States has the best boxers. Let’s put it to the test.

Incidentally, two of the qualifiers for the Paris Olympics, Joshua Edwards and Morelle McCane, reportedly walked out with him during the André August fight. According to the executive director of USA Boxing, Mike McAtee, “Jake’s mentorship will be a vital resource to the young athletes on Team USA to ensure they capitalize on building brand IP as they get the opportunity to perform on the biggest stage in the world at the most iconic contest in history—the Olympics…

It is widely hoped that Jake Paul’s presence will encourage more young boxers to do their bit for the country. As it’s been observed nowadays, many prospects cut short the journey to professional boxing without the standard practice of spending time and learning the ropes as amateurs. The pattern continues despite the Olympics allowing professional boxers to compete on the biggest competitive stage.

Boxing greats such as Muhammad Ali, Sugar Ray Leonard, Roy Jones Jr., and Floyd Mayweather Jr. share one thing in common: It is an Olympic medal. They all won an Olympic medal, from gold to bronze, before switching over to professional boxing. However, a few big names did miss out on the opportunity. To many fans, it casts a shadow on their glittering career.

Manny Pacquiao wants to fill up that vacuum by winning a medal for his country. He made his intentions public some time in early September. Reportedly, he received an encouraging response from the Philippine Olympic Committee. They have, it seems, requested that the International Olympic Committee look into their recommendation. If the governing body considers the boxing legend’s application, then at age 45, he might as well lead the athletes from the Philippines as the flag bearer.
