Gervonta Davis and Ryan Garcia gave the fans a spectacular fight on the night of April 22. But, despite his best efforts, Garcia could not get past the Baltimore hard-hitter and experienced his first-ever professional career loss. Even though the outcome of the fight was not something Garcia’s fans were expecting, they are hopeful that the 24-year-old will come back stronger and better. Notably, Garica parted ways after this fight with his trainer Joe Goossen. And it seems like Garcia is looking for a new trainer to train him. In search of a new trainer, the lightweight is considering one of his old friends to train him again.

According to rumors, Ryan Garcia and his team have approached Eddy Reynoso, Canelo Alvarez‘s trainer, to train him. And, despite them parting ways a few years ago, it seems Reynoso is open to working with Garcia again.

In an interview with FinoBoxing, Eddy Reynoso gave his honest opinion about Garcia’s performance against Davis. And opened up about what he could’ve done better. He said, “I think that Ryan could have given a better performance, from what we had worked in the gym during our time.” The trainer also claimed that it is difficult to beat Garica if he “maintains his distance.”

According to Reynoso, Davis capitalized on Garcia not maintaining his distance, and that’s where ‘KingRy’ lost the fight to ‘Tank.’ Furthermore, the interviewer asked Reynoso if the doors are open for Garcia’s return. To which, Reynoso responded, “Yes! Doors are open. Am a professional.”

The 46-year-old trainer believes that if Garcia returns, the two have to ensure that they take notes and that the arrangement benefits both of them. Garcia and Reynoso are rumored to meet and talk about the same following Alvarez’s upcoming match against John Ryder.

Why did Ryan Garcia and Eddy Reynoso part ways before?

Garcia joined hands with the team of Canelo Alvarez to train for his future fights. But, their relationship came to an abrupt end after the 24-year-old decided to move on. In an ESPN interview, Garcia revealed why he left the team. He said, “The reason I switched was because Eddy didn’t really have time to train me and it just wasn’t working out anymore.”
