“Just a little crusty, little rusty,” but Gervonta Davis took home the win against Frank Martin. Despite a 14-month-long layoff, ‘Tank’ threw a powerful left uppercut in the corner that dropped his opponent. Moments later, Martin was knocked out cold. The crowd cheered for Davis as he celebrated his win with a backflip. But rumors suggest the PPV buys were quite low for the fight. How true is this?

This was shared by boxing insider Rick Glaser, who also stated what ‘Tank’ needs to do next. He explained on X, If #TankDavis faces anyone other than #Loma next, that’ll be what in this era is called “ducking” That needs no other explanation. You’ll see when the PPV number comes out, #Tank needs a well known dance partner to sell PPV going forward, like he did with #RyanGarcia. That’s reality. #Boxing.”

But there is a problem with this. Vasyl Lomachenko squared off against George Kambosos Jr. in Perth, Australia only last month, winning the bout comfortably by an eleventh-round knockout. Right after the fight, Davis had challenged Lomachenko, which the Ukrainian accepted. However, the question here is, why does Glaser think ‘Tank’ needs Lomachenko?

When a user jumped in to defend Davis, suggesting ‘Tank’ fights only the best and could sell out arenas and pay-per-view by re-matching Rolly Romero, Glaser responded claiming the Davis vs. Martin fight “Didn’t do 200,000” PPVs. It is worth mentioning that the official numbers for the fight haven’t been revealed as of the time of writing this article. So Glaser is speculating at best.

A live broadcast of the fight was only available on Amazon Prime Video streaming service. Fans could watch the entire fight card after purchasing the PPV for $74.99. Venue tickets for the live fight started at $354.

While Glaser has shared his opinion, what does Davis want next? During the in-ring interview, when he was asked about Lomachenko, Shakur Stevenson, and Pitbull Cruz, Davis said, “All of them guys os on my radar!” Whether the Lomachenko fight happens is yet to be seen, but Ryan Garcia is trying his best to secure a rematch with Davis. He wants to avenge his previous KO loss!

Gervonta Davis responds to Ryan Garcia’s rematch request!

After Davis delivered an entertaining fight on Saturday night, Ryan Garcia made his way to the ring to congratulate Davis and shared a wholesome moment with him while showing his “Rematch me b**ch” T-shirt.” Later, during the press conference for the fight, Davis shed light on their conversation.

When one of the reporters in the crowd brought it up, Davis said, “He’s crazy.” Elaborating on his point, Davis explained, “He’s crazy talking about rematch. He said I was the best at 135 to 142 [pounds], he said that. He said he wants to fight me again. I’ll kick his a** again.” Ryan Garcia also took shots at Davis on social media, writing, “I will hurt this guy on my momma.”

Well, the loss against Davis surely stings. After all, it was Garcia’s only loss. He currently boasts a 25-1 record and a win against Gervonta Davis at the T-Mobile Arena, Las Vegas is the only thing that will satisfy him.

With that said, it’s difficult to say what Gervonta Davis’ next step will be. But the fight against Vasyl Lomachenko makes the most sense. It’ll be a new matchup for the fighters and a fresh rivalry for the fans to follow. Not to mention, both fighters have already shown an interest in making it happen. Who should Davis fight next?
