Former four-division world champion Adrien Broner has always had a complex relationship with the sport of boxing and the public eye. The 33-year-old is known for his flamboyant personality and has often been compared to fellow boxer Floyd Mayweather Jr. Both fighters have been praised for their in-ring skills and criticized for their controversial behavior outside the ring. However, a recent incident involving Broner being mistaken for Mayweather has caused quite a stir within the boxing community.

‘The Problem’ is currently set to make his boxing comeback against Bill Hutchinson on June 9th. The bout is set to take place in Miami and will be Broner’s first bout under veteran promoter Don King. However, there isn’t much hype for this fight with little information provided to the media and the public. Despite this, it seems that the former champion is cheerful ahead of his next fight following his reaction after being mistaken for ‘Money’ Mayweather.

In a recent video by Boxing World Fans, Broner was approached and greeted as Floyd Mayweather Jr. This was intentional and done as a prank as the person asking this knew exactly who Broner was. However, the former champion was in a great mood and understood that this was a prank and went along with it. He even shared the video on his Instagram Story and claimed that this was a good trip also tagging the person he was with on the trip with. “@itssotreajure we had fun this trip lol,” he wrote.

Over the years, many have seen Broner as the heir apparent to Mayweather’s throne, both in terms of boxing skills and larger-than-life personas. However, the lack of attention and fanfare surrounding Broner’s comeback highlights the vast disparity in their current status. But Broner isn’t coming back without a plan.

During a press interview, Broner expressed admiration for his opponent’s undefeated streak. However, he made it clear that he sees this fight as a stepping stone toward achieving his goal.
