The planned exhibition bout between Logan Paul and Floyd Mayweather may have been one of the biggest surprises in the sport’s recent history. The concept of a YouTuber fighting one of the best boxers in history has not gone down too well amongst fans. And Paul’s former promoter Eddie Hearn has now had his say.

The pair were initially set to enter the ring on February 20. However, after several complications, they had to push the fight forward. And after speculation that the event was off, it appears as though they will face each other. However, Hearn has shown his disapproval of the event.

The promoter spoke to fans on an Instagram live and gave his opinion on the fight. He said, “Mayweather Logan Paul? Absolutely horrendous. Horrendous! I mean look, I can understand Jake Paul vs. Ben Askren, and actually Jake Paul against Tommy Fury, I don’t think that fight will get made but, Floyd Mayweather against Logan Paul? What is that?”

Why will these comments from Eddie Hearn raise eyebrows?

Hearn is famous for being a notoriously hard negotiator and a shrewd businessman. The promoter always gets the best deal for all involved. And he was the first to embrace the concept of YouTube boxing back in 2019.

The Englishman saw the opportunity and promoted the KSI vs. Logan Paul II fight. Moreover, he was the one responsible for Jake Paul’s first professional bout against AnEsonGib.

And Hearn defended his decision by pointing towards their incredible social media following and the monetary value of it.

Therefore, fans will now question why Hearn has a problem with Logan Paul fighting Mayweather. It is obvious that both fighters are doing for the lucrative payday, and that is something Hearn has advocated in the past.
