The year 2023 has seen some of the long-awaited bouts come to fruition and some anticipated fights breaking down during the final stages of negotiation. One such fight was the potential bout between Shakur Stevenson and Devin Haney after the undisputed champion decided to move up in weight. Although many claimed that the boxer was just ducking Stevenson, Haney had already set his eyes on Regis Prograis for his WBC super lightweight championship. And finally, the two are on the verge of an epic showdown in the boxing ring. However, the 140-pound title fight which was initially planned to take place on October 28, is now set for December 9th instead.

Moreover, even the venue for the fight has also been changed, from Las Vegas to the Chase Centre in San Francisco. It appears that this will be a homecoming bout for the lightweight champion as he tries his hands at becoming a two-division champion. Moreover, the bout will be broadcast on DAZN PPV in the USA.

Even though his victory against Vasyl Lomachenko was rather controversial, Haney still stands as an undefeated fighter with 30 wins under his belt. Moreover, Prograis is also an outstanding fighter with 29 wins and only a single loss on his record. The clash between these two boxing titans promises to be a spectacle worth watching, as they vie for supremacy in the super-lightweight world title category.

Devin Haney vs. Regis Prograis Gets a new date: Fans share their frustration

Devin Haney’s fight against Regis Prograis has left fans feeling frustrated and skeptical. Many took to social media to voice their opinions. One point that stood out among their response was their frustration towards DAZN.

One fan stated that he had already canceled his DAZN subscription. Furthermore, he added, “I guess I will be catching highlights of Haney’s brilliant work on Regis the next day. I love watching the young veteran with no real power complicate the lives of these fighters with pure skill.”

Another fan humorously claimed that there will be an update soon stating that the fight has been “pushed back in February of 2024 lol.”

Someone else pointed out that Haney’s previous bout against Loma did not generate that much revenue. However, he stated that the fight only managed to do “150k buys on ESPN and that fight was 10x bigger than this.” He claimed, “This is going to absolutely flop on DAZN PPV.”

Moreover, one fan questioned, “Is this really the mega fight that @EddieHearn said whereby DAZN will use PPV?

Another fan also shared his disappointment with the fight being a PPV. They expressed hope that the undercard would justify the PPV price, stating, “The card better be stacked to justify this.
